SUMMARY:Jon Bennett's AMERICAN'T Comedy
DESCRIPTION:American’t is Jon Bennett’s latest comedic storytelling show\, where he recounts the absurd and chaotic journey of trying to make the U.S. his home. After spending over a decade traveling the world with his shows\, Bennett was forced back to his roots in rural Australia during the COVID-19 pandemic. Living once again with his conservative\, religious family for over a year and a half\, he faced a dramatic shift from his nomadic lifestyle. \nOnce pandemic restrictions eased\, Bennett finally secured a way to leave Australia and move to the U.S.\, only to be arrested upon his arrival at the airport. In classic Bennett style\, this show transforms his personal misadventures into a hilarious yet reflective narrative about resilience\, identity\, and the strange experiences that come with navigating life as an international performer. \nAs always\, Bennett blends humor\, personal anecdotes\, and poignant observations\, taking audiences through his rollercoaster of a journey-from his time back home to the chaos of moving across the world. It promises to be another of his raw\, relatable\, and side-splitting performances. \nThe show has garnered high praise and multiple awards\, including the Patron’s Pick Award at Orlando Fringe (2024) and Best of Fringe at both Tampa Fringe (2023) and Kansas City Fringe (2023). Critics describe it as “a non-stop ride” and “Bennett’s best work\,” with his signature blend of humour and emotion resonating deeply with audiences. \nPICK OF THE FRINGE AWARD WINNER (Cincinnati Fringe\, 2025) \n“Masterful\, hilarious and heart breaking. AMERICAN’T is a Triumph.” – Broadway World \nPATRON’S PICK AWARD WINNER (Orlando Fringe\, 2024) \n“Jon Bennett: American’t is a brilliantly crafted and expertly delivered masterpiece of comedic storytelling. \nJon Bennett proves that storytelling is not just a simple art form-it can be an immersive experience that transports the audience through space and time. His ability to breathe life into memory\, evoking both laughter and deep reflection\, showcases the true power of a master storyteller. \nWith an electrifying mix of raw storytelling\, razor-sharp wit\, and one of the most entertaining PowerPoint slide decks I’ve seen\, Bennett delivers a show that is wildly unpredictable\, deeply personal\, and exceptionally entertaining. ★★★★★” – Fringe Feed \n(Full Review here: https://fringeworld.com.au/fringefeed/critic_reviews/2353) \nSELL OUT SHOW AWARD WINNER (Orlando Fringe\, 2024) \n“He’s turned his experience into one rip-roaring\, hilarious show that’s not without a message.” – Otakuno Culture \n“Depth and sincerity and leaves a lasting impression of Bennett’s rollercoaster journey from American’t to American.” – The List \nBEST OF FRINGE WINNER (Tampa Fringe\, 2023) \n“Bennett’s best work… his most personal show to date. Engaging as ever.” – Orlando Sentinel \nBEST OF FRINGE WINNER (Kansas City Fringe\, 2023) \n“Bennett is one of a kind.” – Montreal Rampage \nVIP AWARD WINNER (Kansas City Fringe\, 2023) \n“A breathtaking\, non-stop ride\, entertaining and deeply personal.” – KC Reviews \n“A perfect mix of comedy and heart-warming storytelling… with a happy ending.” – Canadian Fringe Reviews \n  \nContent Advisory: \nCoarse Language\nAdult themes\nSuicide\n \n Purchase Tickets

SUMMARY:In Good Hands
DESCRIPTION:FREE ADMISSION \nThis year\, the WILDISH introduces the second of two concerts on Sunday\, August 10th at 4 p.m.\, welcoming different sets of performers and compositions than the Portland show. \n“In Good Hands\,” started in 2010. Since then\, they have featured concerts of student musicians performing works by Cascadia Composers members. This deep dive into contemporary music expands their understanding of music\, and helps them grow as artists\, listeners\, and well-rounded members of society. \nPre-college students will perform pieces written by Cascadia Composers: some students will perform pieces written specifically for them; others will present works selected by their teachers from a score call to all 100+ Cascadia members. In either case\, the composers and students collaborate to develop their performance and further their understanding of the piece and of contemporary music in general—a rare opportunity for students to work with living composers.
